![]() ![]() I'm having no trouble using Reaper and two or three other applications to play back MIDI on a variety of MIDI devices, from the internal MIDI to hardware synths through a USB adaper. It makes the Mac look more attractive than it already was in comparison to Windows for people trying to create music.Ĭlick to expand. That doesn't sound quite right. I've figured out a way around that with the help of a free utility you can download, but it's sad that Microsoft would go backwards instead of forward in that area. As it is, I'm still in disbelief that Windows 7 no longer even supports midi playback device selections. ![]() After paying for a brand new computer to begin with, I was hoping to avoid the additional expense just to bring my soft-synth capabilities back to where they were on my older computer. It's looking more and more like my only workable options are going to involve cash layouts that I was hoping to avoid.either buying the upgrade to Win 7 Ultimate in order to use a Virtual XP environment.or purchasing some of the more expensive sound libraries such as Garritan and/or Native Instruments. Since I'm not looking to get away from the Windows operating system entirely, nor do I want to waste disc space by installing certain programs twice (on two different partitions), it sounds like more hassle than it's worth. In other words.I can't install a program in Windows, and then access it from the Ubuntu operating system. If I'm understanding what I've read, that means if I want to use a particular program in either or both Windows and Ubuntu, the program has to be installed separately in both partitions. I do have the ability to build and edit general midi sound font libraries, but they don't come anywhere close to the sounds that Roland's VSC offered.Īny suggestions would be greatly appreciated.especially from people who have experience using alternative soft-synths with Sibelius.Īs I dig deeper and deeper into some of the more obscure Ubuntu Q&A forums, it appears that Ubuntu is designed to work side by side with Windows (if you choose to use it that way), but not to work with programs that are installed on the Windows side of the partition. I'm not interested in Midi "Sound Fonts". I'm trying to find an "affordable" option without having to purchase a full set of the Garritan orchestra and big band sounds.(which still might not satisfy me completely). Has anyone tried using TSS-1 with Sibelius? Can it be inserted into the list of Sibelius playback options the same way Garritan and Kontakt are.(and the way Roland VSC was prior to Windows 7)? The only examples I've found so far were put out by people using it mostly for "techno" type stuff, and I'm not interested in those sounds. I've read that the TSS-1 soft-synth included with cakewalk might be a reasonable alternative, but I haven't found any good demo examples of how all the different instruments sound. Since I've relied on it so heavily for creating decent sounding backing tracks, this puts a big dent in my ability to do that. I've just purchased a new computer with Windows 7, and I was sad to find out that the Roland VSC isn't supported by Windows 7. In Sibelius, I've supplemented it with Konatakt and Garritan, but some of the VSC sounds were better than either of those had to offer. Sound Canvas VA for Windows and Mac (VST/AU) is available for purchase for 115 EUR / $125 USD.I've been using the Roland VSC (virtual sound canvas) for years for the majority of my midi playback needs in both Band In A Box and Sibelius.
![]() ![]() The merc with a mouth is out to make his own video game, and you’re going to help him do it. Throughout the game, even though you are controlling him, Deadpool will talk to you, point you in the right direction, and even call you names. Aside from being absolutely hysterical, this game focuses on breaking down the fourth wall (the barrier between the player and the game), and it does so spectacularly. If you’re a Deadpool fan, or a fan of comics in general, you should probably play this game.ĭeadpool and the voices inside his head are voiced by none other than Nolan North (voice of Nathan Drake in the Uncharted series and Desmond Miles in the Assassin’s Creed series), who brings the character of Deadpool to life in a way not typically found in games. ![]() Unfortunately, the technical aspects of the game are not quite as strong as the story or the presentation of the character. High Moon has made a game that captures the essence of Deadpool’s character damn near perfectly. But then I got nervous–could someone really do this character justice? Could a studio make a game that Deadpool fans wouldn’t rip to shreds? Well, the answer is yes and no. I couldn’t think of a better character to grace my screen and deliver a balance of insane action and absolute hilarity. He's also in Marvel Super Hero Squad, but in a far more innocent way less Deadpool capacity. When I first heard about a game based on Deadpool, I lost it. Marvel Ultimate Alliance was a really fun game on the Xbox 360. He's playable in the game and available fairly early if memory remembers correctly. He appears in most Marvel fighting games, including on mobile such as Marvel Contest of Champions. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds, Deadpool began making his way as a cameo in various marvel fighting games. He is literally really hard to unlock in this game, as you need all red bricks in the game, which require a lot of playing to get it all unlocked, but he's playable and you can play as him and that totally counts. Not only can you play as Deadpool, but you can also play as Pirate Deadpool which is two times more or less cool, depending on where you're at on the pirates vs. It's really fun, and if you're a big fan of Deadpool, you need to play it. It's pretty funny and very true to the style of Deadpool, and involves lots of heroes and crazy stories. It's basically a mix of Devil May Cry and literally every action game to ever involve swords and guns ever. This game lets you play as Deadpool and it's actually really good. He does have a female costume in Marvel Heroes though! This merc with a mouth is out of control, but only Deadpool the Game has all of his naughty dialog fully in the game. I actually got a copy of it as my birthday gift to myself last year and played through it on my birthday, as it was sort of one of those indulgences for something that's just raw action game. It wasn't for sale for a bit, but it's back on Steam now and I rather enjoyed it. There is actually a Deadpool the Game, which is a full complete Deadpool game with its own story and everything. We've got the games you can play as him listed below, especially if you want to see some Deadpool theatrics before he hits the big screen. By a few, seriously, there are lots with him showing up or a reference to him, but very few that let you play as Deadpool. Deadpool is in quite a few video games, if you didn't know. ![]() ![]() ![]() It might haveīeen that the volume of production allowed generations of filmmakers Made it likely that some masterpieces would get made or maybe studios, because of this plentitude, could afford to be generous and occasionally make a Citizen Kane from some higher aspiration. The app does take a little time to learn, but it’s worth the effort. There’s a lot here to like, and it’s good to see the developers showing confidence in their product by offering a fully featured trial version for you to test before deciding whether to buy. Last but not least there are some useful tools for serious projects: a materials calculator that you can use to work out the cost of your framing, fixtures and fitting, a loan calculator that can help you see if you can afford to build it in the first place and the ability to export your plans in industry standard DWG / DXF format as well as in standard image formats and PDF. Home Designer Suite 2020 can calculate your entire materials list for your project, and you can add pricing so it can calculate your costs (Image credit: Carrie Mashall) The former enables you to select the material for a particular feature, such as wooden flooring or tiling, and the latter enables you to copy materials from one item to another – handy if you’re working off a predefined template that uses something you really like the look of. Once you’ve got your design down pat you can use the Material Painter or the Material Eyedropper to make it more lifelike. The Plant Chooser is particularly good, enabling you to search not just by name but by characteristics – so if you want a particular colour of foliage or want plants that will attract butterflies and birds, you can search specifically for plants that meet those criteria and add them to your plan. They’re organised into clear categories – architectural, backdrops, exterior and interior features and so on – and include everything from speakers to spiral staircases, chandeliers to computers. Home Designer Suite 2020 also includes an extensive library of predefined objects that you can drag and drop into your floorplan. As you’d expect there are predefined objects for essential items such as doors, windows, stairs and electrical outlets (if you’re outside the US, these might not be appropriate: for example the UK symbols for power outlets are different than the ones the app provides). The Build menu makes it really easy to create almost any kind of structure, with options not just for walls but for fencing, decking and railings too. The app also includes standard CAD drawing tools and shapes and text boxes. They also snap to each other, so when two sections of your wall meet the app automatically creates an angled join. Dimensions are displayed as you draw, and unless you specify otherwise your drawings snap to the grid. To build your first structure it’s just a matter of choosing the section you want to add, so for example to draw an exterior wall you’d select Build > Wall > Straight Exterior Wall and then position it by drawing it on screen. While the interface might appear a little frightening at first, it’s actually very easy to use. How the pharmaceutical industry has more to gain by manufacturing drugs that relieve the symptoms of disease and less to do with curing the disease. Unfortunately, treatment based on profit is not always in the best interests of the patient – should we relinquish total control of our health to doctors, medical establishments or the pharmaceutical industry? The fact that we are focused on illness rather than wellness, basically promotes profit driven treatment. Although, doctors and medical practitioners throughout Europe have been using ingested Oxygen Therapy for many years, in the US, it is still relatively unknown – the reasons of which are made clear throughout the book. As I expanded my research, I was dumbfounded by the mountains of evidence showing that hydrogen peroxide therapy has been used in various parts of the world by over 15,000 European doctors, naturopaths and homeopaths.
